The memorial was most likely erected after the first world war and it is located in Eastwood Park in Calow. This memorial in particular has suffered lots of damage, which required more money to be spent. Is this cost necessary, or is their sacrifice priceless?
The Lower plaque on the memorial is dedicated to the first World War and has the inscription IN MEMORY OF THOSE FALLEN FROM THIS PARISH/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918/ (Names)/ “GRANT THEM O LORD ETERNAL REST”
In addition to this the Upper plaque, for the Second World War, states IN MEMORY/ OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE WORLD WAR/ 1939-1945/ (Names)
